Teacher Education Induction Ceremony

Well I was Inducted in the Teacher Education program this evening. I was preparing myself for a long and drawn out ceremony and it was actually fun and quick! The guest speaker was amazing, and he gave us a lot of good information! Here are a few pictures from this evening. If I get more from tonight I'll add them later!

Here are some of the Education Majors. They aren't all Early Ed. This is everybody from early ed, to special ed even the brave ones who are doing middle school and adult young adolescents!

Braxtyn loved the icing on the cookie! He didn't even eat the cookie, just licked the icing off of it! Boy was he a mess when he was done!

This year for Halloween I took Braxtyn and Blake to a Halloween party at church, every room had something different for the children to do. It was a lot of fun, and the kids had a blast. I went with a couple other friends who took their kids also. The kids had a great time playing games and winning candy. In the sanctuary they had big blow up jumpy things for the kids to play on and I think that was the kids most favorite thing.

First Day

Well today was my first day in the field, as a second grade "pre-service" teacher as they call us. First off the teacher I have is great! I think we are going to get along just great (at least I hope)! I have 25 children, most names it took me awhile to learn how to pronounce, I have two that are going to be a handful! Today being my first day we had to get the principal to help with one child, and another child punched someone in the bathroom. What a way to start, I know! The kids are great thought, they had trouble saying my last name, and wanted to call me Miss G I was like lets just keep working on the last name, I'm sure you can get it! Oh and the other day my teacher was like there a few of you who I'm going to have to go Friday that I feel are ready to go. Well he asked me today to go Friday. I was like um sure yeah I can, on the inside I was freaking! It is my second day in the field, I don't know the kids names how in the world am I going to do this! But anyway I was really glad he asked me to go!

Oh, another thing, the school I'm working in is like something out of Harry Potter, no there isn't witch craft stuff going on or things flying. There are stairs EVERYWHERE! Sometimes it feels like they are moving on you, they just are everywhere you turn. Oh well, I'll learn where I'm going in the building sooner or later!

Well lets see, it has been awhile since I've posted last. Nothing to much exciting has happened since then but I've been busy don't you worry! I start school on the 25th, oh yea sooo exciting! But what is exciting about starting school is after this semester I have two left then I'm FREEEE! I am doing some student teaching in a second grade class this semester which by the way I LOVE! All the work going into the lesson plans are not that fun, but it is kinda of enjoyable!
Oh and I'm also taking a golf class this fall at school, it is a blast so next time I go out on the course I'll take my camera and put some pictures up of me golfing, it should be a blast!

This past weekend I spent it at the lake, but get this, I didn't wear sun screen all summer while i was out and I was perfectly fine, then I go out this last weekend and I got BURNT! Not just like a little, like my face hurts every time I blink. And my upper legs right by my bathing suit bottom's is so red, you could probably take a red marker and write something and you probably couldn't even read it, it would just blend right in. Anyway I'm going to put some pictures up from this past weekend.

The graduation today was rather long...but I guess you'll have that with 1300ish people graduating. It was fun though, we took a bunch of pictures before and a bunch after which turned out to be hilarious to go back and look at them. But here is a fact sitting through your younger sisters graduation before you have one of your own.....kinda makes me a little jealous, not going to lie. But hey I'm having fun in the process, and making many friends....and one day yes one day (December of 2009) I'll be graduating too!!!!

HELP!!

So I really have no idea what I'm doing with this thing, so you all are going to have to bare with me until I can figure this thing out. I hope to update you at least once a week on what is going on in my life, but something may come up and it may be a week or two. You just never know.

But to fill you in on where I am in life.... I am finishing up school with just 3 semesters left, and then i will be a licenced teacher (pk-3) and let me be the first to tell you I am SUPER excited!! This semester I will be doing some student teaching, as far as I know it will be three days a week, in a second grade class in the Mansfield School District ( I think Woodland Elem.), also very excited about that. Um let's see what else, oh yes I got a new haircut which I love. I even put highlights in it, I'm still single, playin the field a bit longer. My sister graduates tomorrow from OSU...so whoot whoot to you girl!!! Love Ya!! What else is there....I guess not to much else, oh this may come as a shock I got sick at Cedar Point today...talk about a pissed little girl! I got to go on ONE ride, I got in line for the second one and as we are getting ready to go into the last row...bam i feel like I ran into a brick wall. I was pale (as Matt says, and I later saw), my head was spinning so freaking fast, and I was looking for a place to puke. I tell Matt I'm going to be sick, so we get out of line and I head straight to the bathroom only to find a freaking line!!! But I did make it, no vomiting on the floor. So we got some water, a pretzel so I could try to get something down and then we came home!! I was not a happy camper, but what can ya do when you can't stand without getting sick. Anyway enough of that....I am peacing out so I can get some sleep so I can yell and scream for my sister tomorrow!!!!!
